RedMagic 11 Pro Design and Display, Camera, Performance & Benchmarks

The RedMagic 11 Pro is clearly one of the most recognizable phones we reviewed, both literally and figuratively. It has the distinction of being the first smartphone to offer a functioning liquid cooling system built into it, and many more intriguing features.

The design of the RedMagic 11 Pro is certainly unique with a fully flat back and an under-display front camera that is hidden. The fact that you can see the blue cooling liquid through the transparent case further confirms it among the most interesting looking phones available now.

    RedMagic 11 Pro

The RedMagic 11 Pro, a bespoke gaming smartphone, boasts a very high-performance 144 Hz display, an extremely high touch sampling rate, capacitive shoulder triggers, and RGB lighting. It also has what we believe is the largest battery we’ve seen in a smartphone, a massive 7,500 mAh cell, enabling a full day of gaming without the risk of running out of juice while playing.

All these features seem to come together as what appears to be a groundbreaking package, which we will be complementing, in detail.

    What we like:

    • Unrivaled battery life in the smartphone market
    • Incredibly fast performance
    • Striking look with functional liquid cooling

    What we don’t like:

The wild gaming look will not appeal to everyone, and the camera system is average.

We have acknowledged many times that smartphones today have a commonality in design that could be perceived as lackluster. It does not matter who copied whom; ultimately, you end up with a group of flagship smartphones that all look very similar to each other.

This is where the RedMagic 11 Pro finally comes in. Sports phones are notorious for their extreme, outlandish designs that often employ RGB lights, ridges, fans, and loud graphics but this model manages to strike a nice balance between techy looks and tasteful design.

    RGB Lighting Glass

The Subzero version we received features a silver metal finish and a back that is flat with no camera bump. The central blue liquid cooling circle reveals the interior components concealed beneath the glass — polished and textured metal, the Snapdragon logo, the active cooling fan, the camera hardware, and the RedMagic illuminated logo.

The phone has some RGB lighting that is pleasantly subtle seen in the fan, illuminating the logo, and the shoulder triggers. Along the flat aluminum frame are volume and power buttons and a red slider that creates some texture when switching into game mode, which is also programmable. A 3.5mm headphone jack is situated on the top edge as well.

    Video Performance

Video performance is perfectly fine; you get decent colors, but it does exhibit some noise. There is no depth to the image, and detail is not on par with what you’d expect from dedicated camera phones or flagship devices from Google, Samsung, or Apple.

While the RedMagic can shoot in 8K, we would suggest recording in 4K at 60 fps to get the best results. The image stabilization works fairly well, and zooming is possible during recording, as the zoom is digital and does not require switching camera lenses to use.

RedMagic 11 Pro Performance and Benchmarks

The RedMagic 11 Pro boasts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, along with its logo on the back glass, indicating that it is a step above the rest. What is additionally impressive is the active cooling system featuring a mini-fan that spins at 24,000 rpm, a vapor chamber of 13,116 mm², and a cooling system utilizing a ceramic nano-pump.

Today’s chips are incredibly fast, but they can run into thermal throttling. We were curious to see how the RedMagic 11 Pro copes with heavy loads and performance exercised over time. The new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 has been said to rival Apple’s A19 Pro, so let’s take a look at the benchmark results.

    RedMagic 11 Pro Battery

The considerable investment many Chinese phone makers have made into silicon-carbon battery technology is beginning to pay off. By incorporating silicon into the graphite anode to increase energy density, RedMagic has managed to squeeze a massive 7,500 mAh battery inside a mere 8mm thick body – that’s quite the achievement.

It’s no wonder the phone completely dominated our battery test, achieving a champion status score of 10h 43m. The phone, under normal use, is practically impossible to drain within a day – you’d have to game for upwards of 12 hours. Regular use will easily get you two full days of battery life.

    PhoneArena Battery Test Results:

    RedMagic 11 Pro

The battery performance is remarkable in every metric: about 26 hours of web browsing, roughly 15 hours of video watching, and approximately 14 hours of gaming. No other phone can match this, plus there is even more good news.

The great news is that the RedMagic 11 Pro offers wireless charging, which is impressive given its enormous battery capacity, the ACTUAL charge is very fast – the device charged to 70% in about 30 minutes, and to 100% in 57 minutes. The phone claims it can charge to 100% over wireless in 68 minutes, however, we have not yet tested it and will update you on our results.

RedMagic 11 Pro Audio Quality and Haptics

The RedMagic 11 Pro comes with powerful stereo speakers that can get loud enough to easily hear calls in any environment. It has great audio quality, with clarity near maximum volume, with only a little high-frequency distortion.

Bass quality is decent and comes through the chassis as well, and the phone even includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is surely a bonus in today’s flagship phone market. The haptics are among the best available—strong and accurate, exactly what a gaming phone should provide, and no negative issues can be reported.

    Should you purchase it?

But just because the RedMagic 11 Pro took home the top score doesn’t mean that it’s an automatic victory over rivals like the iPhone 17 Pro Max or Samsung S25 Ultra. That’s not to say it is not that simple. No denying that the phone is a powerhouse when it comes to raw performance and battery life, and these two areas certainly make a contribution to its final score.

    RedMagic 11 Pro OS Updates

Again, it is essential to accept a camera system that disappoints, and poor software support beyond the original OS (unless you live in Europe, which offers five years of OS updates). However, if you can look past this, the RedMagic 11 Pro repays you. With a unique design, a gorgeous screen, exceptional speeds that never throttle, and the best battery life possible.

The RedMagic 11 Pro, starting at $699, is a unique option for those looking for something outside of the standard iPhone, Galaxy, or Pixel phone—and not just for gamers. Although it is currently only available for purchase in the United States on redmagic.gg, the higher starting price of $749 is related to import taxes.
