Each tire’s worth about Dh600, but they allegedly sold them off to some other Pakistani salesman in Sharjah for a measly Dh225 each. He then flipped them to customers.
Yesterday, the defendants said they didn’t do it at their hearing.
The Dubai Public Prosecution showed some stuff that said S.A. and C.H. swiped some 16-inch tires with a special tool. They also said these two split the cash they got from selling the tires.
The first sergeant during the investigation talked about how the suspects did what they did. He said, C.H. told me he would sneak under trucks, yank off the spare tires, and toss them into a bus. S.A. drove it as their getaway car.
C.H., the 27-year-old, also said that they carried out these thefts like clockwork after midnight.

The court was told that the stolen tires were handed off to Othman (still on the run), who sold them to Aziz for Dh120 each.
Aziz is being taken to Dubai Court of Misdemeanor for having stolen stuff and admitted to buying all 55 tires from the accused in separate go-arounds.

But Abdul Qader, a real estate agent from Al Tuligi Real Estate Agency (whose office is right across from the bank), spotted it and stopped the theft. Qader said that he saw one of the robbers go up to the bank customer right after he got in his car with the bag of money.
Qader said, The driver jumped out and started checking if the back tires had been popped. At the same time, some other guy casually strolled up to the car, opened the front door and started to get away easily with the bag.”
He added, “I was standing outside and saw the whole thing.
The guy was walking off with the bag, and the driver didn’t even know. I saw him get back in his car and back it out of the parking space. That’s when I told him what had happened.”
Qader said that he darted for the thief as he ran off with the bag. “Two people joined me. We almost caught him. But he chucked the bag and slipped out of his torn shirt and got away. The cops showed up soon after.

The witness said that this wasn’t a one-off thing. “A while back, a bank customer got robbed of almost Dh130,000 using the same trick. And we couldn’t catch the criminals or get the cash back then either,” he said. Sounds like this has happened before in this area.
